Named after John Shafer’s first tractor in the vineyards, TD-9 reflects the family’s bold spirit and dedication to Napa Valley excellence. This red blend brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec, sourced from estate and select Napa vineyards.

The 2023 vintage offers expressive aromas of blackberry, cassis, and dark cherry layered with mocha, baking spice, and a touch of graphite. On the palate, it is plush and powerful yet refined, with ripe fruit framed by velvety tannins and fresh acidity. Notes of cocoa and tobacco linger through the long, structured finish.

Approachable in its youth after a short decant, but built with the balance to evolve beautifully over the next decade.
