Description

Harvested from older vines a day after the regular Spatlese, the wine is less opulent but denser and more powerful. The fruit is a little yellower, but still dominated by fresh herbs and a pronounced spicy note. The zingy acidity gives lightness and purity, and there is a long juicy, slightly smoky finish of great elegance.

James Suckling: 94 Points

Fragrant peach and grapefruit aromas with dark notes behind the lightness. So pristine and filigree that you barely feel the natural grape sweetness on the palate. Brilliant acidity at the long sleek finish. From organically grown grapes with Fair'n Green certification. Drink or hold. Check Price · Download Shelftalker

Wine Advocate 93

Picked about 10 days after the Kabinett and from the south-facing part of the cru, the 2021 Felseneck Riesling Spätlese offers a pure, precise and bright, refreshing and darker-toned slate bouquet with sweet and lush fruit yet piquant and stimulating salinity on the long and salivating finish. Very young but so precise sharp and lush. Irresistible. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in July 2022.
