Description

Collefrisio Primitivo wines come from the famous Salento region where high-class bottles appear. Salento is a geographical area located at the edge of Puglia, in southern Italy. Salento has long been associated with ancient legends. This is a land dominated by limestone, clay, gravel and sand, and has a warm Mediterranean climate.

The Italian region of Salento is perfect for growing red wine grapes. The grapes grown here have a characteristic flavor that is not found in other lands. The grapes grown in the land of Salento are predominantly long-lived grapes, with trees up to hundreds of years old. Despite the long lifespan of the plant, it still refines the essence to produce the best quality grapes. The wine is made 100% from the Primitivo grape variety, the legendary grape of Italy. Wine grapes are harvested between mid-August and early September. Subsequently it is macerated in steel tanks and fermented at a controlled temperature and the following 12 months of aging in barrique. Primitivo has an intense ruby color with violet reflections, and on the nose it is fruity with mostly suggestive red fruits such as blackberries, plums and chocolate. The flavors are rich, fruity, harmonious, rounded and full.
