Marchesi di Barolo Barbaresco DOCG, Piedmont, Italy 2020

The color is garnet red with ruby reflections. The nose opens with the floral notes of wild violet, while a hint of sweet spices, cinnamon and cloves begins to emerge. Structured but well balanced, with well present but soft tannins.

Opening to a medium-dark color, the Marchesi di Barolo 2020 Barolo Tradizione is slightly opaque with a combination of blackcurrant and sweet spice. The fruit feels quite ripe with dried cherry and candied raspberry. You also taste the tarry spice that comes with barrel age. The wine’s aromas come into better focus with a little extra time in the glass.
