Sourced from the high-elevation Serra Pedace Vineyard, the wine delivers layered notes of blackberry, blueberry compote, tar, black licorice, rocky minerality, and savory earth. Rich, tannic, and powerfully structured, it balances rustic intensity with remarkable freshness and depth. Aged for 44 months in terracotta amphorae alongside new and neutral French oak, the wine showcases both old-world character and Leonetti’s refined winemaking approach.

“A great wine from a tough vintage, the 2020 Leonetti Aglianico was stored for 44 months in terracotta amphorae, as well as new and neutral French oak barrels prior to bottling. It is tannic, rich and bold with shades of tar and blueberry compote alongside rocky soils and shades of black licorice on the palate. Considering the vintage this is a resounding success.”
