Jonata 'El Desafío de Jonata' Red 2005 is a rare 1.5 L Magnum from the acclaimed Jonata Estate in Ballard Canyon, Santa Barbara County. As Jonata's flagship Bordeaux-style blend, El Desafío ("The Challenge") showcases the estate's finest vineyard blocks and is produced only in exceptional vintages.

The inaugural 2005 vintage offers an expressive bouquet of blackcurrant, blackberry, cassis, violet, graphite, cedar, dark chocolate, and baking spices. The palate is powerful yet elegant, with concentrated dark fruit, finely integrated tannins, balanced acidity, and exceptional structure leading to a remarkably long finish. The magnum format has allowed the wine to age gracefully, developing added complexity while preserving freshness.
