Izadi Selección Blanco 2024 is an expressive white Rioja made from a blend of six indigenous white grape varieties: Viura, Maturana Blanca, Garnacha Blanca, Tempranillo Blanco, Malvasía, and Turruntés. Sourced from older hillside vineyards in Rioja Alavesa, the wine combines bright citrus and white-fruit character with tropical and floral notes, complemented by subtle toasted and spicy nuances from partial barrel fermentation. Fresh, textured, and savory on the palate, it finishes with lively acidity and delicate floral and toasted notes.
Critic Reviews
Robert Parker Wine Advocate 93 “The white 2024 Selección Blanco was produced with a blend of the six local whites, 55% Viura, 14% Maturana Blanca, 13% Garnacha Blanca, 8% Tempranillo Blanco and 5% each Malvasía Riojana and Turruntés from different villages and vineyards, fermented in barrel, stainless steel and concrete and matured in 225- and 500-liter barrels and concrete for five months. Their whites never go through malolactic fermentation. This is primary, with notes of white fruit and flowers and just a spicy twist. It has good ripeness, 13.35% alcohol, a pH of 3.1 and 6.6 grams of acidity, pointing at a medium-bodied white with very good freshness and acidity, clean and focused, with a dry finish.” — Luis Gutiérrez, The Wine Advocate.
James Suckling 91 “A solid Rioja blanco. Expect warm stones with sourdough bread and a mixture of white fruit and sour cream. Fluid on the palate but quite fresh with medium body and a long finish. A blend of viura, maturana blanca, tempranillo blanco, garnacha blanca, turruntes and malvasia. Already lovely. Drink now.” — Zekun Shuai.
