Description

The 2012 Hanzell Chardonnay is a distinguished expression of Sonoma Valley from one of California's pioneering Chardonnay producers. Founded in 1953, Hanzell Vineyards has earned an international reputation for crafting elegant, age-worthy wines inspired by the great white Burgundies while remaining true to their Sonoma hillside estate.

Produced from estate-grown fruit, the 2012 vintage showcases Hanzell's signature balance of richness, precision, and mineral complexity. Thoughtful barrel fermentation and extended lees aging contribute texture and depth without overwhelming the wine's vibrant fruit and natural freshness.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of Meyer lemon, crisp pear, golden apple, white peach, and citrus blossom are layered with hints of toasted almond, brioche, vanilla, wet stone, and subtle baking spice. The palate is concentrated yet remarkably refined, revealing flavors of ripe orchard fruit, lemon curd, hazelnut, and mineral notes supported by lively acidity and a silky, textured mouthfeel. The finish is long, elegant, and beautifully persistent.
