Domaine Coste-Caumartin’s Pommard “La Rue au Port” 2022, crafted by Jérôme and Benoît Sordet, is a refined Côte de Beaune Pinot Noir from clay-limestone soils near the village of Pommard. The warm yet balanced 2022 vintage delivers ripe red and black cherry fruit, violet, and subtle spice. Aged 12 to 15 months in French oak, the wine is elegant and structured, with fine tannins, lively acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish. It pairs beautifully with roast duck, lamb, or mushroom dishes and will age gracefully for up to a decade.
This outstanding Pommard from the 2022 vintage at Domaine Coste-Caumartin reflects the distinguished heritage and commitment of the Sordet family. Nestled at the base of the Côte de Beaune in the lieu-dit “La Rue au Port,” the vineyard brings a unique clay-and-limestone terroir to the glass. The ruby-to-deep-red hue introduces a nose of ripe cherries, wild raspberries and dark berry compote, complemented by subtle floral notes of rose petal and a whisper of underbrush and rendered earth. On the palate the wine presents rich fruit concentration, seamlessly integrated tannins of fine grain and a lively fresh-red-berry core. The finish is sustained and poised - a compelling expression of vintage elegance and site-specific identity.
