Description

The 2013 D66 Grenache is the flagship wine of Department 66, a project founded by acclaimed winemaker Dave Phinney of Orin Swift Cellars. Crafted from old-vine Grenache grown in the rugged schist soils of Côtes Catalanes in France's Roussillon region, this wine reflects both the power and elegance of southern French Grenache.

The 2013 vintage opens with expressive aromas of ripe blackberry, black raspberry, plum, lavender, dried herbs, licorice, and baking spice. The palate is rich and concentrated, offering layers of dark berries, black cherry, cocoa, cracked pepper, and garrigue, balanced by silky tannins and vibrant acidity. The finish is long, savory, and beautifully textured.

Produced in Maury, France and imported by Orin Swift Cellars, D66 is an outstanding expression of old-vine Grenache and a perfect choice for Rhône-style wine enthusiasts.
