With a history that dates back to the 1960s, Renato Ratti has long been an innovator of Barolos in the Piedmont region, where he developed new techniques for Italian wines such as in-bottle refinement. Active in writing the rules and regulations for Alba which include the coveted DOCG label, Renato Ratti was one of the prime movers in bringing the wines of Piedmont and Italy to international prominence. Today the reins restĀ in the hands of his son Pietro and his nephew Massimo Martinelli.

"This has aromas of cherry stones, sliced almonds, candied strawberries and pistachios. Medium body, powdery tannins and a friendly, flavorful palate with unique nut character. Drink now." (Aug 2022)

"Part of the little soldier series and a big production of 100,000 bottles, the Renato Ratti 2020 Langhe Nebbiolo Ochetti opens to a bright appearance and shiny ruby transparency. This easygoing wine represents a selection of fruit from across 11 hectares of vines with southeast exposures. You get soft, ripe fruit with lots of cherry and plum." - Monica Larner (Aug 2022)
