Description

Darmagi means 'what a pity' in the Piedmont dialect and it said to be Giovanni Gaja’s reaction to the arrival of Bordeaux varieties in Barbaresco.

"The pureness of the cabernet sauvignon character is fantastic, with blackcurrants, iodine, gunpowder and some violets. It’s medium-bodied with fresh, ultra-fine tannins that melt into the wine. Such grace and beauty. From vines planted in 1978. Drinkable now, but even better in two or three years."
