Description

TASTING NOTES - A vivid fragrance of Bing cherry, red plum, and fruit pie, together with a faint geranium undertone, characterizes the "Red Cap" Pinot Noir. Marionberry, cherry, and sundried tomato flavors are abundant on the tongue, while the texture is structured and silky. The chewy, pleasant tannins give way to a zingy finish with hints of dried fig and spice.

PRODUCTION NOTES - Hand harvested organic grapes farmed organic, vines are old, yields kept low, yeasts are native, alcohols low, acids balanced, winemaking non-interventist, new oak very minimal to non-existant. The achievement is ageworthy, characterful wines of finesse, elegance and food friendliness. The Eyrie Vineyards was named for the home (eye-ree) of red-tailed hawks that share the Lett's vineyard land in the Dundee Hills.
