Description

From the cool climate vineyards of Santa Maria Valley in Santa Barbara County, this Pinot Noir is crafted by David Bruce Winery, a historic producer known for structured and age worthy expressions of the grape.

The 2010 vintage delivered balanced ripeness with vibrant acidity. Now fully mature, the wine shows a translucent garnet color with slight brick at the rim. Aromas lean toward dried cherry, cranberry, forest floor, mushroom and subtle baking spice. With air, hints of tea leaf and earthy undertones emerge.

On the palate it is medium bodied with softened tannins and bright acidity that keeps the wine lifted. The fruit has evolved toward dried red berry and savory notes, finishing smooth and gently persistent.

Drinking beautifully now, it pairs especially well with roasted duck, mushroom dishes, grilled salmon or herb roasted chicken. A short decant will help it open fully.
