Description

From the coastal hills of Tuscany, Nemorino is produced by I Giusti & Zanza and reflects the balance and structure of the excellent 2010 vintage. The estate, located near Fauglia not far from the Tyrrhenian coast, benefits from cooling maritime influence that preserves freshness in warm years.

Nemorino is typically a blend centered on Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, combining Tuscan character with Bordeaux structure. With time in bottle, the 2010 shows a deep garnet hue and layered aromas of black cherry, dried plum, cedar, tobacco and subtle Mediterranean herbs.

On the palate it is medium to full bodied with refined tannins that have softened beautifully. Dark fruit, earthy spice and a touch of savory depth carry through a long, balanced finish. Now fully mature, it is drinking at peak and pairs effortlessly with grilled steak, braasted meats or aged pecorino. A brief decant will help it fully open and release any sediment.
