A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc, aged for 20 months in 72% new French oak. Sourced from Salvestrin’s parcel of the Dr. Crane Vineyard, this is a lovely, elegant wine that captures both freshness and mineral intensity—no small feat in 2022, given the intense heatwave after Labor Day. Despite the vintage's challenges, this bottling offers a dark fruit profile, featuring black and blue-toned fruit layered with fine cedar spice. The satiny fruit frames velvet-textured tannins, laced with tobacco and fine brown baking spice. Long and mineral-driven, the finish is profoundly satisfying and refined.

Based on 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc and aged 20 months in 72% new French oak, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Dr. Crane Vineyard comes from the estate vineyard in the heart of St. Helena and sports a dense ruby/plum hue as well as gorgeous aromatics of crème de cassis, graphite, candied violets, and baking spices. It's beautiful on the palate as well, with a layered, seamless mouthfeel, medium to full-bodied richness, and sweet tannins. It's certainly in the style of the vintage yet brings mid-palate density, plenty of concentration, and sound underlying structure.
