Description

From the historic Freedom Hill Vineyard, planted in 1981 on the southeast slopes of Mt. Pisgah and rooted in well-draining Bellpine loam soils, this Pinot Noir is known for its structure, depth and concentration. The 2024 opens with wild blackberry, ripe cherry, raspberry and rose petal, accented by clove and cinnamon spice. The palate is supple and beautifully textured, with layers of dark fruit, black tea, anise and forest floor, supported by fine tannins, vibrant acidity and stony minerality. Powerful yet elegant, with a long, lifted finish.

The 2024 shows ginger, clove, lavender and crushed blackberry, with a silky palate of wild berries, lifting acidity and tactile minerality. Tart cranberry, violet and licorice add further complexity to the finish. Drinking window: 2027–2038.
