From Il Poggiolo’s vineyards in Montalcino, this distinctive Metodo Classico is made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso, the same grape used for Brunello di Montalcino. The 2014 spends 36 months on its lees, followed by nine months of cellar aging after disgorgement. It shows an elegant straw-yellow color with delicate pink reflections and fine, persistent bubbles. Aromas of flowers and bread crust lead to a fresh, pleasantly acidic palate with a delicate bitter finish.
