Description

The 2011 Ridge Lytton Estate Syrah/Grenache is a limited-production Rhône-style blend from the historic Lytton Estate in Sonoma County's Dry Creek Valley. Crafted by Ridge Vineyards, a winery renowned for its commitment to sustainable viticulture and traditional winemaking, this blend highlights the distinctive character of estate-grown fruit.

Composed of 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache, the 2011 vintage offers expressive aromas of blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, cracked pepper, lavender, smoked herbs, and subtle baking spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied with vibrant red and dark berry fruit, savory spice, mineral notes, and silky tannins that lead to a long, balanced finish.

Only 37 barrels were produced, making this an exceptionally limited release. According to the winery, the cool 2011 growing season allowed for slow ripening and concentrated flavors, while careful fruit selection ensured exceptional balance and structure. This wine drinks beautifully now and will continue to evolve with additional cellaring.
