A pure expression of Chardonnay from one of Chablis’ most revered climats. The 2023 vintage offers both richness and precision, shaped by the warmth of the season and the domaine’s classic, restrained winemaking style. Aromas of crushed oyster shell, wet stone, and lemon zest open into notes of ripe pear and green apple. The palate is concentrated yet finely etched, showing layers of chalky minerality and vibrant acidity that carry through to a long, saline finish.

Fermentation and aging take place in a combination of stainless steel and a small proportion of oak barrels, allowing the wine to retain freshness while gaining texture and depth. Domaine Vocoret et Fils, founded in 1870, remains family-run and is known for its traditional approach that emphasizes the purity and terroir of Chablis.

Les Clos, the most prestigious of the Chablis Grand Crus, sits on steep, south-facing slopes with Kimmeridgian limestone soils that lend the wine its distinctive tension and mineral backbone. The 2023 vintage can be enjoyed young for its energy and brightness, but it will develop beautifully over 10 to 15 years, gaining complexity and roundness with age. This wine pairs naturally with shellfish, white fish, and delicate poultry, or with a creamy cheese like aged Comté.
