The 2005 Château La Chandellière from Médoc is a fully mature, classically styled Bordeaux from an outstanding vintage. In the glass, it shows garnet color with brick at the rim, and the nose leans firmly into tertiary territory: dried blackcurrant, cedar, tobacco, leather, and forest floor.
On the palate, the wine is medium bodied with completely resolved tannins and a savory, earthy core. Fruit is secondary now, but the balance remains intact, supported by fresh acidity and a clean, dry finish. This is a quiet, traditional Médoc that values elegance over power and is drinking at its peak—best enjoyed now, ideally with food and good conversation.
