Description

From the cool, maritime-influenced vineyards of California’s Carneros region, Ancien Wines’ 2023 Chardonnay showcases the elegance, richness and distinctive minerality of the renowned Toyon Farm vineyard in Napa Valley. Crafted from low-yielding Old Wente Chardonnay vines, the wine is whole-cluster pressed, fermented entirely in French oak barrels, one-third new, and aged on its lees to develop depth and complexity. Inviting aromas of citrus zest, ripe apple and stone fruit mingle with delicate hints of honeydew melon and crème brûlée. The palate is beautifully textured and concentrated, offering layers of Meyer lemon, fresh orchard fruit and creamy richness, balanced by vibrant acidity. A long, refined finish reveals mouthwatering minerality and exceptional freshness.
