From the storied hill of Corton, Clos des Fietres is produced by Au Pied du Mont Chauve, an estate focused on precise, terroir driven Burgundy.

The 2013 vintage was cooler and more classic in style, emphasizing structure, acidity and aromatic purity. The wine shows a bright ruby color with aromas of red cherry, cranberry and wild strawberry layered with rose petal, spice and crushed stone minerality.

On the palate it is medium to full bodied with firm, fine grained tannins and vibrant acidity that gives lift and longevity. Red fruit is framed by subtle earth and savory notes, leading to a focused, mineral driven finish.

Still structured and evolving, this Corton benefits from decanting and will continue to develop complexity. It pairs beautifully with duck, game birds or mushroom based dishes.
