Virna Borgogno crafts traditionally styled Barolo from the Sarmassa cru, a site in Barolo known for structure, depth, and age worthy Nebbiolo. The 2012 vintage shows expressive aromas of red cherry, crushed rose, and wild strawberry layered with tar, licorice, and subtle baking spice. On the palate, it is firm and focused, with vibrant acidity and structured tannins framing flavors of dried raspberry, leather, and earthy mineral notes. With time in bottle, the wine has gained harmony while retaining its classic backbone, finishing long, savory, and persistent with the hallmark grip of Sarmassa.
